Facilitator Marta Miranda Straub’s career spans 50 years, during which time she has held many roles – published poet and author, social services commissioner for the state of Kentucky, social justice activist, community organizer, fund development professional, psychotherapist, tenure professor, department chair, and nonprofit CEO.
Marta is the founder and president of Catapult Now LLC an organizational development, training and consulting firm. Marta and her associates work with nonprofit and for-profit organizations nationally.
Marta is passionate about writing poetry and children's books. She is the published author of four bilingual books. Her memoir “Cradled by Skeletons - A Life in Poems and Essays’ (2019), her most recent book, "Mermaid Musings: Diving in the Margins” (2025) is a a bilingual collection of poetry. Marta is also the author of two illustrated children’s book “Lullaby for Maddie” (2022) and “Spirits in his Hair” (Winter 2026). She is currently writing a romance novel.
Marta is passionate about teaching writers to harness their authentic voice and build the life they want to create. Marta lives by the quote “A vision without a plan is a hallucination”
